Cross-dock, Trans-load, Distribution and Storage
Our main Distribution Center located in Laredo, TX, includes a 5+ acre truck yard with capacity to handle up to 150 trailer vans. As a valuable resource, our facility is one of the few distribution centers with a rail spur, capable of unloading up to 9 railcars at a time. Our rail spur and rail side loading deck allow us to offer unique cross-dock services, trans-loading, warehousing, loads consolidation, transportation and distribution. Our rail access within our facility is an invaluable tool to provide solutions to minimize cost to our clients’ logistics requirements.
Cross Border and Customs Clearance
Our team of professionals includes the highest qualified experts on General Import and Export Tariffs Law, in order to properly classify your shipments and minimize your import cost. Our team of professionals provide to our clients a custom made catalogue, including all different type of loads that each specific client handles, identifying the type of import, characteristics of each load and import tax classification, that is constantly updated according to any regulatory changes that may be implemented from time to time. Our Consulting Department audits and validates that all your transactions are properly classified.

Our team of professionals constantly train and validates all changes and updates made to the customs clearance rules and regulations, in order to provide answers and adequate solutions. Universal also provide legal representation in the fiscal area for past transactions that may be audited from time to time. In addition, our consulting department can assist in obtaining special permits issued by the Mexican government that may be required for imports and during inspections (PROFEPA, SAGARPA, among others).
